Grade 7 Science โ€” Quarter 3: Motion & Energy

Grade 7 Science Q3: motion, waves, light, heat, and electricity.

DepEd MELC reviewer for Grade 7 Science, Quarter 3. Master the concepts, tables, and common-mistake warnings below.

1

Describing Motion

Distance is total path; displacement is straight-line change in position. Speed = distance รท time.

Speed = distance รท time
2

Waves, Sound, and Light

Waves carry energy. Sound needs a medium; light can travel through a vacuum and is faster.

โš ๏ธ Common Mistake

You see lightning before you hear thunder because light travels much faster than sound.

3

Heat and Electricity

Heat moves from hot to cold by conduction, convection, and radiation. A circuit needs a source, conductor, and load to make current flow.

4

Worked Example

A car travels 150 m in 10 s. Find its speed.

Speed = 150 m รท 10 s = 15 m/s

Always include units in your final answer.

๐Ÿ“Œ Quick Recap โ€” Master These

Before your test, make sure you can confidently do each of the following:

  • Explain and apply Describing Motion.
  • Explain and apply Waves, Sound, and Light.
  • Explain and apply Heat and Electricity.
  • Explain and apply Worked Example.

Re-read any section above where you hesitate, then try the worked example again without looking.
